Futile Preoccupations

Now you see, I'm a 17 year-old girl, and usually you don't hear mere children talk about politics. But you know, there is something about the news that have been bothering me a bit.

It's all the "Obama Scandals". Well, for right now, that's what I'm going to call it.

As we all know, Barack Obama is the leader of our dear capitalist country, U. S. of A (awesome!). And you know, I have been noticing that these reporters out there are worrying about something beyond stupid: how President Obama looks.

Now, as of late, I have been watching the people worry about his looks, how he carries himself in the public eye and whatnot, and quite frankly, this has become a bit stupid.

I remember the first "Obama Scandal" I heard about, it was about his attire on his vacation to Hawaii with the first lady and his two daughters. Now you tell me what the hell a person is supposed to wear on their vacation? A suit and a tie as they go for a dip in the pool or beach? No matter who they are in life, when it comes to vacationing, they have a right to dress lightly, it's a law of vacations, I would know, I'm 17, and I vacation like a monarch butterflies.

Well, moving on to The second Scandal I remember . . . now what was it . . . Ah yes! His vacation time. I read an article someone posted somewhere, I'm a kid, i don't remember these things well, and this person says, (by the way this is a direct quote for the article, I just don't want to be sued for copyright stuff), "Like we were supposed to believe any words coming out of President Obama's mouth. What an image of leadership this displays to the American People and especially those in the Gulf Coast region. Obama claimed he would not rest or be satisfied, yet he will now have gone on three vacations since the outset of the BP oil disaster. One really has to ask them self whether this president really cares or give a damn at all."

I'm only focusing on the vacation topic for right now because that's what seems to bother close-minded people the most, because it seems like there's nobody out there who really cares if illegal immigrants are separated from their families in America by deporting them for doing minor things that they most likely didn't mean to do because they are really low on money.

So yeah, America, let's focus on how the president is dressed on his vacation to Hawaii, or if he dyed his hair before the State Dinner, and just forget about the things he's not really doing. Now I'm not one to go against him, because, I figure, "what the hell, he's got one year left, he could fix it in time before the next election, right?" But everything the country is worrying about is completely futile. How about working on making the world see that there are bigger things to worry about, not inane things like his appearance in certain places.

I can't even say what else people seem to say that are pointless, that's pretty much it, but if i see something else, I swear on my imaginary polar bear that I will say something in retrospect of this "dire" situation.
